Yesterday, Caleb had the opportunity to meet a new friend named Sophie. Sophie's mom and I worked together the past few years and over the years we have always said that we should get the kids together to play sometime and just never have until this summer. After many conversations about what our child are like, the trials and tribulations we are dealing with in our "3's" Kristen and I have said numerous times that our children are MADE FOR EACH OTHER!!
Monday morning rolled around, and Kristen, Sophie, and baby Eva showed up on our doorstep and it was non-stop laughing, screaming, giggling, and playing from that point on! Let me just tell you that I think my sweet little boy fell in love shortly after Sophie arrived. Sophie might be the coolest chick Caleb knows due to the fact that she was all about playing with some trains AND she even knew who Thomas the Train was! Caleb was super impressed by this for sure!! Major bonus points for Sophie right off the bat for knowing this information about one of Caleb's favorite friends!
So after a few minutes of playing, showing Sophie our house, and toturing our sweet little dog... it was time to wash our hands and make yummy s'more cookies! The kiddos were so happy to help bake the yummy treat and even snuck in a few marshmellows before lunchtime!
After sticking our delicious cookies in the oven the two peas in a pod were off making mischief again, chasing the dog around, making a surprise birthday party, and giving us medicine. The pizza man showed up with our pizza and we had what I like to call a nice little "Texas picnic." I say this because for those of you that live here... you know it is WAY TO HOT TO GO OUTSIDE AND HAVE A PICNIC! So we improvised and spread a blanket out on our living room floor and had a little picnic indoors with air conditioning, Texas style! :)
Guys, this little girl IS TO DIE FOR!! Omg, she is soooooo stinkin' cute! Not only did she win MY little love's heart over, but she totally won mine over too and even had me thinking that having a little girl of my own would be so much fun!! Her sweetness and sassiness is priceless! She's definitely got some spunk in her step and she totally was not afraid to hold her own against my fiesty little guy... LOVED IT!
So after a few hours of fun for the sweet new friends, and a few hours of Kristen and I being able to just let them play and enjoy being with another adult, it was time for Sophie to leave. I'm keeping the following pictures for the future... you never know what it holds! :)
Is it just me, or does anyone else sense that love is in the air?!?!?!?!
Thanks for coming over to play Sophie!! I hope we have many more play dates in our near future!
