3 Months Old

Baby Caleb, I can't believe you are already three months old! Time has gone by SO FAST!!! It seems like just yesterday we were walking through the door of our home with you, introducing you to the world. This month of your life has been a crazy one. For Mommy, it has been bitter sweet because I enjoyed my last few weeks at home with you but at the same time I had to return to work. Lucky for us though, your family has been taking care of you. You have really started to show us who you are this month. Your personality seems to be coming out more and more everyday, you have become such a happy baby! You smile and talk to Daddy and I ALL OF THE TIME! :) I really do believe that you know who we are, and that you can't help but to love us just as much as we love you! You smile with your mouth wide open and it just makes my heart melt. You have had so many "firsts" this month. Your first smile, night away from Mommy and Daddy, taste of ice cream and mashed potatoes (not together of course), your first Thanksgiving, holding a rattle for the first time, and even your first picture with Santa! It makes me so happy to watch you grow and explore all of the wonderful things this world has to offer you! This month you have also become very observant. You have grown to love your playmat that your Aunties got you, lights, and sounds. You are swinging away at those toys that hang down from your playmat. Daddy encourages you to keep practicing so you can one day became a pro athlete! Believe it or not, but you even LOVE TO WATCH FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL! You were being very fussy one night and we turned the tv to watch the Mavs play and all of the sudden you got so quiet and just watched the game! :) You have even started sleeping through the night! Thank you so much for doing this, however if Mommy could just put in one small request.... let's try to move the bedtime up to about 9 instead of midnight ok?! :) There are so many things you do now that I adore! You hold onto my hair when I'm rocking you to sleep like it is a security blanket, the way you smile at me when you wake up in the mornings, and even the way you TRY to laugh at Daddy when he is making faces at you! You make the most adorable squeaky sound when you are trying to laugh, it sounds like a hiccup! You are almost there buddy, keep working on it!! I could go on and on about how much you have changed and grown this past month, and how much I have loved every minute of it. Something I have realized is that you are my heart. I have never felt so strongly about anything the way I feel about you in my entire life. I love you more and more each day (even on those nights that you fight me to go to sleep)! I just hope and pray Daddy and I make the best decisions we can while raising you to give you the most wonderful life you deserve. I know this next month will be just as exciting as the past three. I look forward to all of the amazing things you are going to learn how to do and I can't wait to be home for the holidays and spend some time loving on you! Hugs and Kisses sweet boy! Love, Mommy
