Christmas in Texas

My Christmas spirit came back to me this year, and I think part of the reason was because we were at our home for Christmas.  Don't get me wrong, I love being in Illinois & New Orleans for Christmas too... but there is something about waking up in your own bed, being with all of your own things, & watching your kid being able to open and play with his new toys Santa brought him right away.

Christmas eve is probably my favorite part of Christmas.  I think that the next time we have Christmas at home we are going to start the tradition of our big dinner on Christmas eve instead of Christmas day.  Some of our traditions we already have are new pjs, Christmas movies with popcorn & hot chocolate, opening one gift, reading The Night Before Christmas, & of course preparing for Santa!

I was so surprised that Caleb slept until almost 9:30 Christmas morning!  I was also VERY UPSET with myself for not having the camera ready right away as well.  I still wasn't sure how much Caleb really understood about Santa.  We talked about how Santa comes when we are sleeping, & he leaves us presents if we are good, & we also want Santa to be able to see all the little boys & girls so we leave him cookies so he doesn't get hungry during delivery; but I was not expecting my little guy to get so excited when he saw that the goodies were all gone that we left for Santa!  He immediately said, "MOM!  He was here, Santa was here!  He ate all the candies & cookies!"  Hopefully I will remember this cuteness for next year & have the camera ready to go! :(  We did however catch a little clip of Caleb finding his fish "MEMO" (really it's suppose to be Nemo, but it comes out Memo) on tape though!

A few days after Christmas, NaNa & PaPa were home from New Orleans so we went to their house to have Christmas with them.

I think overall, Caleb had a really good Christmas.  I hope that his 4th Christmas is just as memorable as his first three & I'm sure it will be!
