A visit from Grandma & Grandpa

The Friday before Easter Grandma and Grandpa came into town for a visit. So on Saturday night we got ready for Easter by dying eggs. Caleb wasn't too sure about the dying eggs part, he just liked dropping the egg in the water and watching in splash every where... imagaine that, him making a mess!! Saturday night after dying eggs, Grandma & Grandpa headed over to Uncle Philip's house and offered to take Caleb with them. Who were Chris and I to opose such an idea!! So we packed his stuff up and sent him on his way to Uncle Philip's house!! We enjoyed a much needed night of peaceful sleep since our little guy does not like sleeping at all! On Sunday, when we went over to Philip's Caleb was having a great time playing with Allie and Uncle Philip. For a while now Chris and I have been wondering where Caleb has gotten his crazy personality from and on Easter I finally saw it... he is so much like his uncle it is scary! After dinner, Mom decided to give Caleb his Easter basket. My little guy still isnt too excited about the whole present thing yet, but he does love to pull everything out and throw it behind his back. As you can see... all of his toys ended up behind him! Next it was time to hunt for some eggs!! Caleb didn't do so hot at the Easter egg hunt at Ms. Mandy's house, he found 2 eggs (one for each hand) and he was done. Grandma however helped spark his interest in looking for eggs and after he found them all he wanted to keep doing it again and again. Over the past week, Caleb has learned many new words and tricks thanks to Grandma and Grandpa. Mom sat down to read his 5 Little Ducklings story with him and in the story their is a frog. Caleb learned to say "ribbet" this week and it might be the cutest thing ever!! We also got to make the infamous Sour cream sugar cookies while Grandma was here. I thought for sure Caleb would love getting messy in flour and eating cookie dough like I did as a kid, but I was sadly mistaken. He didn't like the flour at all and he just kept saying "yuck". Hopefully he will grow out of this stage, because he sure doesn't know what he is missing!! Then it was time for Grandma and Grandpa to leave. Grandpa helped Caleb put his money in his piggy bank, we put him to bed and the next morning they were back on the road. Caleb was so sleepy when they were getting ready to leave, he didn't want to wake up. He had such a great time with Grandma and Grandpa while they were here, but now he is going through some SERIOUS DETOX TIME!!! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa J.... we love you!

He is such a BIG BOY!! So funny that he didn't want to get messy with the cookies! I'm sure you'll be wishing he still felt like that when you pull him from his first mud puddle! :)
