FALL FAVORITES!

So I've been doing some thinking lately about the seasons, maybe it's because I'm a Kindergarten teacher and we are talking about fall, or maybe I am just simply realizing how much I miss the North during this time of year. Growing up as a kid in Illinois, I didn't realize how good I had it. I experience true fall weather! The leaves changing colors, helping my dad rake the front yard and then jumping in the leaf piles... what fun I got to have!! The smells were always great too, and in fact last fall I found myself buying oils that reminded me of "home". I have always thought of myself as a springtime kind of girl, but I'm thinking that I need to add fall to the list of favorites as well and here is why: 1. The weather- I love that perfect weather feeling where you can wear a t-shirt and jeans, or a sweatshirt if needed. 2. The smells- apple cider, pumpkin pie, and possibly even the fireplace... it all smells so great. 3. Pumpkin Patch- I had the chance to take Caleb to a pumpkin patch last year and we had so much fun!! This year we are going to The Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch and I can't wait! 4. TV- what's better than watching all of your favorite shows on television while wearing your pjs and drinking hot cocoa?!?!? Our tv is tuned in on football, mickey mouse, the backyardigans, One Tree Hill, Dancing with the Stars, 90210, Grey's Anatomy, America's Next Top Model, Lipstick Jungle... ok maybe I watch a little too much tv in the fall! :) 5. Friday Night Football games- Chris and I haven't been to one of these in a while, but I'm sure when our little guy grows up we will be at one every Friday cheering him on! 6. Trips to the pond- Lately when I come home from work I give Caleb and snack and while we are waiting on Daddy to come home we hop in the wagon and walk down to the pond. 7. Halloween- Trying to figure out what Caleb is always a challenge, but dressing up Caleb is so much fun! 8. The Morning Cold- I love the feeling in the morning when you wake up and you just don't want to get up because you know you are going to be cold once you get out from under the covers! 9. The Texas State Fair- I've never been before, but it is for sure on the "To Do List" this year! 10. Thanksgiving- I love eating and spending time with family! It's a great feeling to be thankful for the amazing people and wonderful things in your life! So those are just a few of my favorite things about the fall! I hope your fall is full of warm and toasty memories this season as I'm sure ours will be! :)
