The Big Day!!

Whew!! What a day we had yesterday! It flew by so fast and I'm not even sure that I remember what all happened. It started by Caleb waking up several times through the night (of course) and at 4:00 in the morning waking up again and Chris and I singing Happy Birthday to our little guy! He took some milk and then went right back to sleep until about 7:30. At 7:30 we woke up and had some birthday pancakes and jammed out to a fun birthday song that Mommy found on the Internet. Caleb was shaking his booty and showing all signs that he was ready for his big day! :) After our birthday pancakes, Caleb went down for his first nap and I was out running some last minute errands. Daddy got himself ready and Grandma started preparing for the party. After Caleb woke up his Dad had to put his LSU jersey on for the first game of the year! Then the fun really began. Everyone started doing decorations, preparing food, setting up tents.... it was MAD CHAOS, but our party would not have been a success without the help of some very special people so THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! We finally got everything ready just in time to take a few pictures of the decorations, tables, etc. before our guests started arriving. This is the palm tree that we hung up in the corner of the house and decided to push the coffee table under it to put all of Caleb's gifts on. I took a bunch of bananas and glued them together and then put a picture of Caleb on each bunch one for every month of the year! What monkey doesn't hang from vines? The super cute door hanger that a talented Mommy made for Caleb's party! I had the hardest time finding a cute birthday banner for Caleb's party. One day I was walking in the party section at Hobby Lobby and saw this and just had to get it!! Chris found this monkey at the store when he went to get Caleb's balloons, it's so CUTE it's holding a banana and everything. Everyone signed Caleb's picture wishing him a happy birthday. I was more excited about the cake than anything! Ever since I started planning Caleb's party I knew I wanted his cake to be super cute. So when I found this amazing cake lady and found out she lived right down the street, I booked her as soon as I could! She took his birthday invitation and made the cake match it! She did such a wonderful job on Caleb's cake and everyone talked about how great it looked and tasted! I would highly recommend her to anyone I know looking for a cake! Check her website out My Sweet Hobby The top layer of Caleb's cake was chocolate and the bottom layer was white. How adorable did his smash cake turn out?! If it weren't for Caleb's grandparents and great-grandmother, things would have not gone as smoothly as they did. They were wonderful and helped so much with his party! Once everyone got there and started filling their tummies with all of the yummy food, we put Caleb in his high chair and it was time to sing Happy Birthday. This might have been his favorite part of the whole day!! When we started singing to him his face just lit up and he just watched everyone, it was adorable!! After the cake eating, we took Caleb and gave him a bath while everyone else watched the video I posted earlier. Then it was time to open presents!!! We had to change him for the THIRD time that day and this time he was wearing his Illinois jersey because they were also playing on his birthday!! Caleb wasn't really interested in his presents, other than the riding fire truck, but he sure did like the tissue paper! No party could be complete without guests, so here are a few pictures of some of the people who attended! We were missing Gran and Pa at Caleb's party, but we know that they were where they needed to be and thinking of him throughout the day! :) Overall, I would say the party was a big success!! Caleb had a great time, and we are so blessed that he is loved and adored by so many people!!
