4 Months Old~ a Little Late

Caleb, Well, another month has flown by and you are growing more and more everyday! Just the other day I was packing up a container with all of your clothes, shoes, and jammies that no longer fit you. It made me smile to think how big you are getting but sad at the same time because you should still be able to fit in thos tiny adorable clothes of yours. This month has brought many new and exciting things our way. You got to meet your Gran and Pa for the very first time, tried applesauce and bananas (big fan of applesauce, not sure about nanners yet), you laughed out loud, had your first Christmas, and on a sad note you also experienced your first sickness with an ear infection. Through all of these firsts, you have been a trooper! It really hit me hard this month with how fast you are growing. You are really starting to show us who Caleb Jackson Bordelon is and some of your independence. You try so hard to push our hands away when we are feeding you because you want to hold your own bottle... this is a battle you haven't won yet because I'm just as stubborn as you are and I'm not willing to give in that easily! :) Even though you love to cuddle, you are definitely letting Daddy and I know that you need your own space too. You LOVE to lay on your playmat and kick and "swim" and laugh at the lights and dangling toys that hang above your head. This has become your new favorite toy! You still are not rolling over yet, but you are trying so very hard. I have a feeling that this month we will get to witness such an event. You are so fun to be with when I come home from work. Whether I have had a good day or bad, you always make it 10 times better when I walk through the door and smile as soon as you see me. It makes every problem or worry go away and just makes me happy for the moment I'm in. You have developed a special bond with Daddy and I, but they are different and unique with each of us. With me, we talk and play but we really connect when it's bathtime and bedtime. All though it makes you sound spoiled, no one can make you fall asleep like I can. Daddy has a really hard time with it and gives up. You and I just sit in a chair and rock while you nestle your head into my neck and breathe on me and hold a strand of my hair. I talk with you and tell you what we are going to do the next day! It's my favorite time with you. Daddy bonds with you when he plays with you. He can make you laugh like no one else! It melts my heart to watch the two of you communicate, it's like watching Daddy talk to his own reflection. You and Daddy also bond by watching football and basketball. As much as it drives me crazy that you are already addicted to sports, I know it's going to bring many memorable moments with your Dad as you get older. You have even made a bond with your dog Noelle. You have really started noticing her this month, and you love when she comes up to you and kisses you on the hand. It makes you smile and coo! If she is in front of you where you can really see her, you will stare at her and watch her every move. We love you such much Caleb. Love, Mommy and Daddy
